During our user research process, we identified several key pain points experienced by international business founders managing multiple bank accounts, cards, and employees on payroll. These insights were crucial in shaping the redesign of Starlight's platforms, some of them were:
Complex Account Management
- Issue: Users found it challenging to manage multiple bank accounts across different countries, leading to confusion and errors.

Difficult Card Management
- Issue: Managing multiple business cards, setting limits, and tracking expenses were complex and prone to oversight.
+ Insight: Users required a more intuitive interface for card management and expense tracking.
Onboarding Difficulties
- Issue: The onboarding process for new users and accounts was lengthy and confusing, leading to drop-offs.
+ Insight: A streamlined, user-friendly onboarding process was essential to retain new customers.
Tedious Cross-Border Transactions
- Issue: Handling international transactions was cumbersome and time-consuming, with multiple steps and unclear fees.
+ Insight: Simplified, transparent processes for cross-border payments were a high priority.
To address the challenges of managing multiple business cards, we introduced a unified card dashboard that provides an at-a-glance view of all cards, spending limits, and current usage. Spending alerts and controls were implemented to prevent overspending, while a new quick card switching feature allows users to effortlessly navigate between cards.
Detailed insights into card usage and enhanced security features, such as temporary card locks and virtual card numbers, further streamline and secure the card management process. These improvements ensure users can efficiently and securely oversee their business cards, making financial management simpler and more effective.
To simplify cross-border transactions, we streamlined the process by reducing the number of steps and providing transparent fee structures. A unified interface allows users to easily initiate and track international payments, with real-time updates on transaction status.
Additionally, we introduced support for multiple currencies and local payment methods, ensuring seamless and efficient transfers. These enhancements make cross-border transactions faster, more transparent, and user-friendly, significantly improving the overall experience for international business founders.
We revamped the website with a cleaner design and intuitive navigation, ensuring easy access to key features and services. Optimized for speed and mobile responsiveness, it offers a seamless user experience across all devices, enhancing usability and visual appeal for Starlight customers.
We redesigned the mobile app with a user-friendly interface, making it easier to manage accounts and transactions on the go. The app is optimized for performance, ensuring a fast and seamless experience for business owners.
